Karen Cherrone, DVM, DACVS
Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Cherrone is a board-certified veterinary surgeon with over 25 years of experience in advanced surgical care.
Originally from Upstate New York, Dr. Cherrone earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Dr. Cherrone completed a rigorous internship in medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, as well as a comprehensive residency in soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgery at Long Island Veterinary Specialists.
Following board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Cherrone has served as staff surgeon and Director of Surgery at leading specialty, referral, and emergency hospitals in Long Island and New York City, including The Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital of the ASPCA. Her clinical interests encompass advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, regenerative medicine (including platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapy), and comprehensive pain management.
Outside of work, Dr. Cherrone enjoys quality time with her dog Sofia, as well as playing tennis and exploring both New York City and the coast.
